The ride is only part of the weekend fun!
The fun begins on Friday night when those who arrive early
pickup their registration packets and then stick around for
live entertainment and free refreshments that can't be
beat. Friday night arrival is optional but encouraged in
order to reduce the congestion during packet pickup on
Saturday morning includes the always popular Costume
Contest. Dress up in a period costume, a clown
costume or anything of your choosing. Use your imagination.
Your photo will be taken at the first rest stop between 9:30
and 11:30 am. Individual and group awards will be given
at the 6:30 pm Saturday evening Variety Show. Decisions of the
judges are final! It’s all in fun anyway, so don’t take
yourself too seriously.
After Saturday's ride, come to the Rest & Recovery area
near the Vendor Tent to reunite with your friends, tell
stories and enjoy a free ice cream bar courtesy of the Hilly
Hundred. This is always where you will find the famous Circle City Sidewalk
Stompers Clown Band on Saturday afternoon.
You’ll find many of the top bicycle shops in the midwest
holding unbelievable end-of-season sales in the Hilly Hundred Vendor Tent.
The fun continues on Saturday night at the 6:30 pm Variety
Show with live, professional
entertainment. Much of the evening is set aside to
highlight the people and events of the Hilly Hundred Weekend,
including some special awards for special people. Reed
Steele will perform and serve as the Master of Ceremonies,
appearing in his 35th consecutive year with us.
If photography is one of your passions, bring your camera,
take your best shots and review the contest
rules so you can enter this year’s Hilly Photo Contest.
Judging takes place after the Hilly Hundred Weekend. The
winners will be notified next February and their pictures will
be displayed at the 2019 Hilly Hundred Weekend. Top prize is
worth a cool $100 cash. Check out the official Hilly Hundred Photo Contest Rules.
The Hilly Hundred will continue to keep you advised of
activities in the local area, such as in Bloomington, which
will offer you a diversion away from the cycling activities on
Friday and Saturday nights. Those events offering
discounted fees to Hilly Hundred riders will especially be
mentioned. The best place to find this information will
be on the Late Breaking News page,
just before you leave home for Ellettsville, as this
information will often be available only at the last minute.
